All lives CAN'T matter until black lives DO matter
Our community is hurting deeply. We are beyond sadden by the senseless death of George Floyd and all of the cases of racial injustice and police brutality.
At Girl Gang Strong we not only believe that black lives matter but we also live this movement as our business was created by a black life.
To our fellow black community - we feel your pain, literally. It's okay to feel angry, to feel sad, to feel ok one day and not ok the next day. We love you and we're here for you.
To our non-black community - thank you for being supportive and using your voices to help bring about change. We appreciate your love and compassion. We see you in the comments letting people know that when we say black lives matter that it does not mean that all lives don't matter. Thank you for standing with us.
The black community has been treated as if their lives don't matter for such a long time. We can't actually say all lives matter until black lives are treated equally. We loved seeing this TikTok video by @Giv.Sharp which is a great example to help show the difference between saying black lives matter vs all lives matter.
Very soon, we'll be sharing some resources to help our young community learn more about black history, our experiences and how you can get involved even at a young age :)
Girl Gang, please be kind to one another. Check on your BFF's, show love and positive vibes to anyone you come in contact with because we are Girl Gang Strong together!
